BONUS RECIPE
My grandfather always taught me to never go empty handed when going to someones house or let visitors go hungry :):). In honor of that, this is a quick and easy recipe for the holidays, wether you're hosting or visiting a relatives house . It can be made in less than ten minutes and even if you're not living in Puerto Rico you can find all the ingredients. I hope you enjoy it with your loved ones ;)

INGREDIENTS
INSTRUCTIONS
1 1/2 CUPS PUREED PIGEON PEAS
4 OZ. CREAM CHEESE
1/4 CUP FINELY CHOPPED RED ONION

1/2 CUP EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

1/4 CUP RED WINE VINEGAR
​
1/2 CUP FINELY CHOPPED PARSLEY
​
1 TSP. MINCED GARLIC
​
1 TSP. WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE
​
SALT & PEPPER TO TASTE

1. PREPARE AND CHOP ALL INGREDIENTS.

2. IN A BOWL , ADD THE PARSLEY, ONION, GARLIC, OLIVE OIL,VINEGAR AND MIX . UNITL THIS POINT YOU HAVE A BASIC RECIPE FOR CHIMICHURRI. (TO FINISH THE CHIMI ONLY ADD SALT , PEPPER AND RED PEPPER FLAKES TO TASTE ).

3. ADD THE PUREE OF PIGEON PEAS AND INVOLVE UNTIL WELL MIXED . UP UNTIL THIS POINT IS IS A VEGAN DIP IF YOU DON'T WANT TO ADD DAIRY.

4. ADD THE WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE AND CREAM CHEESE. DEPENDING ON THE TEXTURE YOU WOULD LIKE THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS

​IF YOU LIKE A CHUNKIER TEXTURE, MIX THE CREAM CHEESE BY HAND.

IF YOU LIKE IT SMOOTH THEN MIX EVERYTHING IN A BLENDER OR FOOD PROCESSOR .

SECRET OPTION NUMBER THREE (HEHEHE..) IS TO MIX THE CREAM CHEESE WITH HALF OF THE PIGEON PEAS MITURE IN THE BLENDER AND THEN COMBINE WITH THE OTHER HALF BY HAND . THAT WAY YOU HAVE A COMPROMISE BETWEEN CHUNKY AND SMOOTH.

5. SERVE WITH CRACKERS, PITA CHIPS, FLATBREAD OR CHIPS AND ENJOY ;)
